This week we will discuss how to create a select box that the user can select multiple items.  As you can imagine of course this isn't really a normal html <select> tag, but your user won't know the difference. I came across this idea when a project came up where this functionality in a select box would be perfect, allowing the user to filter items, allowing multiple selections will allow the user to have multiple filters on and off with out a large row of filter checkboxes. Let's go step and... read more.

Hey there! When last we left, I was tweaking the Ticketini Squidoo page... beefing it up with links to upcoming shows, info on featured artists, music videos, Amazon album picks, featured lenses (other Squidoo pages), news feeds, and a heck of a lot more. Then the creative lightening struck... why not create individual pages for our favorite performers? What better way to pay tribute to great singers, and really put the spotlight on their upcoming shows? So that's just what I've been doing over the last few... read more.

Surely you've heard me talk about Twitter on more than one occasion... if you haven't, and if you're unfamiliar with what the heck Twitter is, suffice it to say it's a free microblogging service that lets users publish 140-max character status updates on a frequent basis. From a social media perspective, however, Twitter can be a tremendous tool for brand marketing your business, your product, your service, or your personal message in general. As far as I'm concerned, there's a right way to tweet... and the... read more.

Earlier this week, Yahoo! officially rolled out three new targeting options for its Search Marketing ad platform: demographic targeting, ad scheduling, and enhanced ZIP-level geo-targeting.Chris Crum reported with webpronews.com that the search company is apparently expecting to rock advertisers' minds with these new features. As Yahoo! As you may already know, I'm big into Twitter right now. Mostly I use it for social media marketing purposes, but I've also found it to be a great news aggregator... sort of like a downward scrolling marquee filled with the latest industry-related buzz.On Tuesday, the industry-related "Tweet Heard ‘Round the World" went a little something like this:"OMGZ FINALLY COPY + PASTE FOR IPHONES!!!!!"Well, more or less. That's right, iBoys and iGirls, on Tuesday, Apple announced that it plans to add copy-and-pa... read more.

Last Friday marked the kickoff of the renowned South by Southwest Interactive 2009 festival in Austin, Texas. The sea of music, film, and interactive technologies raged (in a good way) over the weekend and culminated yesterday with a spicy standoff between industry-experts Guy Kawasaki and Chris Anderson. Kawasaki, a venture capitalist and marketing mastermind, and Anderson, editor-in-chief of Wired Magazine, apparently "got rowdy" at Tuesday's final keynote while debating over a topic that's become common... read more.

On Tuesday, Stephen Shankland reported with CNET News that Yahoo! is taking corrective steps to appease the "disgruntled" folks who tested, and apparently strongly disliked, the search company's recently refurbished homepage. These corrective steps will take the form of yet another redesigned homepage, one that, according to Shankland, "will dramatically speed up access to e-mail."Right off the bat, I am sure that this new emphasis on email will receive positive feedback from Yahoo surfers. I personally use... read more.
