As Apple’s launch event for the iPhone 5 inches closer, more and more Apple fan boys are figuring out more of the features that we can expect to see, and what might end up disappointing some loyal Apple users. Over the past few months, rumors about the next-generation iPhone have continued to grow larger, but here are some features that we should be more than likely to see during tomorrow’s iPhone 5 announcement.
The Name
One major clue that is pretty obvious due to the invitation images sent out by Apple. Look closey at the large “5” shadow underneath the 12 in accordance to the events date. While some say that “5” shadow could also be in reference to the five rows of apps due to a possible larger screen on the new device. The release of this model, will technically count as Apple’s sixth iPhone device.

Taller, Thinner Display
It has been a rumor for quite some time now, but it seems pretty evident that the next gen iPhone will feature a larger screen than the current iPhone screens. Many suspect that the new iPhone’s display will be about 4 inches diagonally, compared to the existing 3.5-inch display. There has also been several rumors stating that the iPhone 5 will tout a thinner screen, which would allow the device to be lighter in weight than ever before.

9-Pin Dock Connector
There have also been indications that Apple will be switching its 30-pin dock connector for one with only 9 pins. If this particular 9-pin dock connection rumor happens to be true, it would make existing speakers and chargers useless when used with the new device. However, it is more than likely that the company will introduce an adapter which will convert it back to its original 30 pins.

Redesigned Earbuds
Not only have pictures surfaces of Apple’s newly designed earbuds, but a patent was field in April 2012 and approved last month has surfaced for what Apple is calling “vented in-the-ear headphones,” which aims to reduce the echoes that you may hear of your voice while on a phone call. In the patent, Apple said, “The invention aims to improve the sound quality by venting or leakage.”

Possible iPhone 5 case?
A Paris-based 3D-printing accessory company, Sculpteo will be accepting orders for iPhone 5 cases just hours before the official Apple event on Wednesday. The company has also set up a page for Apple fans to get creative with designing a custom case. Apple fans can also customize and create their own iPhone 5 case via Sculpteo’s website and free app. The 3D printed cases cost $19.95 and ship worldwide.
