Well it's about that time again; shopping for new threads
and getting in the back to school mind-set. I'm actually excited for this
semester because it's my last one! I know I will have intense senioritis but
the fact that my last semester is in the fall means I won't miss class due to the
spring sunny weather. Now that the whole not using your phones and gadgets in
class is a thing of the past I recommend looking
into these apps and websites for a smooth semester.

Groopt. If you are in any extracurricular activities (i.e. sororities, fraternities,
clubs, and sports) on your campus I recommend using this site and app to help
you organize your events, files, members, and more. You can also use Groopt as a personal way of keeping your schedule and uploading and storing files in a
cloud-like format. Groopt is great in that it
doesn't allow for any advertisements; promising a friendly, distraction-less
online working space for you and your group. Groopt allows you to make polls,
buy and sell inventory via WePay, and
track member involvement as well. You can try Groopt Premium free for a month!
Free Graphing Calculator. Graphing Calculators are one of the
most essential tools for college. I bought

aTexas Instrument used for almost a hundred bucks. I
wish apps like the free
graphing calculator by William Jokusch existed when I had started college.
This app does it all from calculus to basic algebra. We can only hope that
professors will allow these apps to be used during tests. Either way if you're
ever in a pinch and don't have your actual graphing calculator handy you can
run this app - it's free!
Buy
a PC for college get a free Xbox. What college student doesn't like Xbox or
just free stuff in general? PC runs promotions similar to this one each year in
order to help college students out financially. In order to get the free Xbox
you have to buy a PC that costs a minimum of $699. The best part of this deal
is that you also get Windows
8 PRO for an upgrade price of only $14.99 in the fall. This is a really great deal especially for those who are
struggling with getting the right tools for college.

Chegg. When I was a freshman I was oblivious to the fact that I could rent/buy textbooks online.
I learned

the hard way and soon realized as my first semester went on that
there are other solutions for purchasingtextbooks. Chegg has been my favorite online
store for renting or purchasing books ever since I ‘broke the bank' freshman
year. You log in through your Facebook account, rent your books and voila! They
have great perks as well; 21-day return policy, so if you end up not needing
your book for class you can return it, inexpensive rental fees, and my favorite
- they plant a tree in your honor after every transaction.
Besides these apps and sites; there are other methods to
having a smoother semester. Make sure to control your stress levels by not
cramming and procrastinating. Exercise and eat healthy to avoid the "freshman fifteen"
weight gain. Drink responsibly and call your mom!
