I was browsing Mashable.com again today, like I do every time I am at work, in order to find some inspiration for my daily blog. Nothing was really jumping out at me today until just an hour ago when Sarah Kessler posted a blog titled, "Chrysler's Twitter Account Accidently Drops the F-Bomb." Oh yes, you read that correctly. A major, well known company had a tweet mishap only a few hours ago and it was a serious PR (public relations) crisis. The tweet was taken down immediately but not soon enough. Some of the 8,000 followers Chrysler were already beginning to retweet the mistake. The tweet said the following:
"I find it ironic that Detroit is known as the #motorcity and yet no one here knows how to f**king drive."
OUCH, that is not good for Chrysler! Fortunately, Chrysler was on top of their PR game and immediately posted an apology tweet that said:
"Our apologies-our account was compromised earlier today. We are taking steps to resolve it."

Who was person behind this F-bomb tweet? "People familiar with the Chrysler media organization say it was actually an employee of social media company New Media Strategies, who runs the account for Chrysler," this was taken from Jalopnik who wrote about the Chrysler incident earlier today.
Businesses with Twitter accounts must be careful who they trust their tweets with. A slip-up like Chrysler had today can do some major damage for the reputation of a company and/or business. Sometimes managing multiple accounts for your business and your own personal account can get confusing and feel like social media overload. Let the specialists at Hudson Horizons help you manage and enhance your social media accounts today!
