There are new Facebook features available that many businesses are starting to finally figure out and utilize to their fullest potential. After its IPO, Facebook is doing everything it can to raise its revenue and these features will only be the beginning.
Role Playing
Rather than giving all access or none at all to admins on Facebook pages, Facebook has now implemented five different admin roles for different levels of access. This power and responsibility distribution can help businesses distribute power, but also be able to keep specific things private to protect sensitive information. The five roles are described as:
- Manager
- Content Creator
- Moderator
- Advertiser
- Insights Analyst
Timed Postings
It used to be that businesses had to use a third party application to automate posts for some time in the future, but not anymore. Facebook created a tool to be able to share status updates, photos, links, and videos at a future date within 6 months of time. The clock icon on the bottom left of the sharing tool (the box in which posts are created) is where businesses are able to choose a time in which the given post will be shared to their fans.

Post Promotion
Ranging from $5 and higher, posts are now able to be promoted to more followers than a normal post would reach. Fans are not always subject to every post of a page they "like," so Facebook has monetized the way to gain greater exposure within the fan base. Pages can only promote posts if they have 400 or more fans, so anything lower than 400 will not give the page access to this feature. Posts that are 3 days old or newer have the ability to be promoted.

Have you used these new features yet? How much of these feature do you think were promoted by the revenue hungry IPO?
