The foulest stench is in the air
The funk of forty thousand years
And grizzly ghouls from every tomb
Are closing in to seal your doom

I love fall - especially October! From football season, to
Halloween there are many events to celebrate this month. October brings out the
best in us as it is Breast
Cancer Awareness Month and we all pitch in to find the cure in our own way.
I can't forget to mention college homecomings and reuniting with old friends. This
October is extra special for us since next month is the Presidential Election
and we are eager to vote and tally in to see who our next POTUS will be. But
Halloween is the event in October that excites us the most.

The web is a great place to get ideas for your Halloween celebrations.
The web is a great resource for costume ideas and for planning your Halloween
night out on the town. One does not simply get in the Halloween spirit - there are
specific steps:
- Scare yourself. My friends and I started
October the right way by going to Fright Fest
in 6 Flags.
At Fright Fest you roam the theme park and are followed by creepy
clowns and zombies. These scary events put you in the Halloween spirit. As for
my friends and I, we're determined to take this years' Halloween celebrations to
the max (see step 5).
- Carve a pumpkin. You aren't celebrating Halloween unless you carve a pumpkin. There are online
resources for pumpkin carving stencils (some stencils are free).
Don't forget the best part about carving your pumpkin is baking the seeds and
smashing your pumpkin at the end of the Halloween season (do so before someone
else does).
- Watch scary
movies! Hulu has a "Happy
Halloween" section with spooktacular films for your streaming pleasure. Hulu is a great, free online entertainment
service. You can also tune into ABC Family's
13 Nights of Halloween tonight!
- Make a custom
Halloween costume. Store-bought costumes are cool but they have
become overplayed. Let your creativity take over this year and put together a great
custom costume. There are great Halloween makeup tutorials
on YouTube if you decide to go the extra mile to creep people out with your
homemade costume.
- Dance until you
die. Well not really - but if you have ever watched Hocus Pocus (my favorite Halloween
movie) the Sanderson Sisters put a spell on the Halloweenies
that makes them dance all night long. I recommend finding a safe and fun place
to dance with your friends. Do your online research for Halloween parties and
make sure you buy your tickets online to avoid long lines!
Halloween
comes once a year so take advantage of the rush from the haunted houses and
mazes. The adrenaline rush from fear
is stimulating to the body; it's the same adrenaline you get from pleasant
feelings and helps you remember that you're
alive. Feel alive this Halloween and join the Halloween fun!
