Facebook ads are an great way for your company or website to reach its target market. Before you go ahead and create a Facebook ad for your company, the first thing that you should do is establish a goal for the particular ad. The goal of your Facebook ad can be to gain more likes or acquire new shares from posts on your Facebook Fan Page. Once your goal is established, it will allow you to create the ad so that it is specifically geared to meet your overall goal. It is very simple to create ads that will reach your target market on Facebook.

Creating An Ad for Your Business

Now that you know what audience you wish to target for your Facebook ad, you can begin coming up with titles, the body, and where you would like the ad to link to on your Facebook page. Fans of your page usually spend about 2-5 minutes more than people who do not like your page on Facebook.

  • Next to ‘People will see’ choose ‘A New ad’
  • When composing your ad text, explain exactly what you are advertising

When you create a Facebook ad, you will be given options that will allow you to target new customers based on their: geographic location, personal interests, age, and more. With each individual "like" that you receive on your Facebook Page is usually someone who was intrigued by your company offerings or service. Your target market are people who want to hear all the latest news, updates, and product offerings from your company. Post compelling content that will make your fans want to visit your page on a regualr basis.

Test Multiple Ads

A great strategy to determine what type of ad your target market will respond best to is to run a few different test ads. Something minor such as including a promo code within your ad that can only be redeemed by new Page fans could be just what will persuade the user to "like" your company Facebook Page. Test your ads by seeing what types of images engage your audience most effectivley. By taking these simple steps. you will be able to assess what your target audience finds appealing.

Once your ads have been set up and released to the public, be sure to monitor their performance. The performance of your ads can be measured in the Ads Manager. When you check up on your ads to view the actions that they have recieved, you will be able to diagnose exactly what stimulates your target market. Also located in the Ads Manager, admins of Fanpages can monitor their audience, insights, and other useful data reports created by Facebook. When you go ahead and post your ad, keep your page up to date by posting statuses and photos several times a week. You dont want the new fans that you gained to unlike your Fanpage.
