Stumped on how to get more blog readers? Well, that doesn't
include your friends and family that is. The advancements of Google searches
has caused writers to have to change how they write their content making sure
not to keyword
stuff which can negatively affect your search rankings. As many bloggers
would tell you; it's all about great content that search engine crawlers can
and will pick up.
Google's
Keyword tool is a site that all bloggers who are looking to increase blog traffic
should check when posting a new blog. Writers can check ranks of keywords in a
global and local spectrum. Most importantly is Google Keyword Tool also ranks
the keywords competition from low to high. The competition rank is the most
important criterion when evaluating a keyword.
Competition. This
ranking criterion is most important because this is how the competition is
ranked according to how many advertisers are requesting for that keyword. Say
you are writing a Smartphone review blog on phones for the next quarter. If you
enter Smartphone reviews in the Google Keyword's Tool you'll see "Smartphone
reviews" has HIGH competition with a good amount
of local and global monthly searches. You have to remember who you're
competitors are when you use a highly competitive keyword. If you then Google search "Smartphone
reviews"; first you have CNET Smart Phone Reviews,
then Top Ten's
Smartphone Reviews, and lastly PC Mag Smartphone Reviews.
These three tech gurus are hard to compete with; this is where the Keyword Tool
list comes to play.

The Keyword Tool List.
Look at the "keyword ideas" list provided by the phrase "Smartphone review." These
are recommended according to your search; again ranked by competition, global
and local monthly searches. If I were to write a blog on Smartphone reviews I
would choose the keywords "2012 Smartphone Review(s)" and the models I have
chosen to write about. Adding the year of the model will help your blog rank
amongst similar competitors.

Beyond the Google Keyword Tool. The
Google Keyword Tool is just one step in writing effective
blog articles. The Keyword Tool also picks up optimized
image descriptions. A blog article should have between one to three images
amongst written content. A title and
image description is a great way to get your blog article clicked on through a
Google Search. Keep in mind the Keywords in regards to your Google Keyword Tool
searches.
Your blog's content should sporadically use the keywords
selected from the Keyword Tool list in its content; again be cautious of
keyword stuffing. An effective blogger writes constantly and also engages
readers with questions, images, and links.
Have you tried the Google Keyword Tool to optimize your
blogs? If so, have you seen any changes in your ranking, or growth in readers?
