Online shopping is becoming increasingly popular as the years progress. There was a time when online shopping was not as safe and there were financial risks in providing private credit card and other personal information on the web; however, those times are over and online shopping is not only safe and secure, but it's illustrating its power through recent statistics with notorious shopping days such as Black Friday.
According to the New York Times, last year consumers spent $318 million on Thanksgiving online shopping with a total of $595 million the next day, Black Friday. This year, it is expected to grow even more. So what has stopped some people from pulling all-nighters just to get to the door buster deals in the am? It seems a mix of increased broadband use accompanied with the ease of online shopping has kept consumers in the comfort of their own home as they optimize their shopping experience through the web.

This year, major stores are taking advantage of the days before Black Friday to showcase their holiday savings and even extending those sales beyond Black Friday. Walmart, Best Buy, Macy's and Amazon.com are some of the retailers who are taking advantage of online shopping with deals available just after you finish your turkey dinner! Apple has even revealed top iphone apps for Black Friday deals, that features even better ways to shop online or even in-store during the frenzy of Black Friday.
Now that some of the madness is alleviated from Black Friday, shoppers can now experience an overall greater holiday shopping experience. Consumers don't need to worry about losing sleep in vain or waiting in line for hours to find out the store is out of stock of a desired item. This year start early, start online and be done with holiday shopping before it's even December!
