Instagram
is the most popular mobile social media platform to date. And with
popularity comes competition and imitation. Apps such as Instamessage and Cinemagram
play off Instagram's popular name but have different uses; one to connect with
others, and the other to make GIFs straight from your phone.
Instamessage allows you to message others from Instagram privately. You don't have to be following
them but if your profile is private users won't be able to see who you are or
your username. Instamessage updated their app today allowing users to message
those Instagrammers who are nearby. I wonder how many couples will come out of
this update?
Cinemagram has become my latest obsession. I have always
been a fan of GIFs and wasn't sure how to make them but now that has changed. I
made my first Cinemagram of a short video I made at EZoo. I'm too embarrassed to
show my first creation (because it's terrible) but I made the GIF below this
morning during a pool game at Hudson Horizons. I don't think it turned out half
bad.

Social
apps remain the most popular among smart-phone users. We are constantly
sharing what we're doing, wearing, eating and more. Soon there will be an app
(if there isn't already) for the foodie in all of us who want to share our
every meal called InstaMeal or Dishgram. There are endless possibilities in the
social app world. Where do you think these social apps are headed to in the
future?
