Marissa Mayer should be given a round of applause for taking a leap as Yahoo CEO. As if that isn't enough on her plate; she is a mommy-to-be and a true nerd. Mayer is a great role model for girlies growing up in today's society especially when all we see are Kim Kardashian's and Paris Hilton's everywhere. Mayer is determined to surpass Facebook and Google as Yahoo's new CEO.

Yahoo has been lagging behind tech gurus such as Facebook and Google since they were introduced to the tech game. Although Yahoo was a pioneer for web technology, it couldn't compete in the long run. Mayer hopes to be the one who turns this around and brings Yahoo into the spotlight (besides what she has already done). Mayer helped Google perfect it's Maps "street view" as well as perfecting the "look and feel" for users worldwide.

Mayer has taken in a lot of negative energy concerning her pregnancy at 37 and how this will affect her health. It's safe to say that having a baby at a later age in life isn't the easiest thing for a woman, but times have changed and there's no need to inform Mayer of this when her doctor most likely has already. Women are far more resilient and aren't given enough credit. Mayer was one of the first 20 employees to Google; what makes people think she cannot handle this?

Mayer has a tough to-do list to get Yahoo in tip top shape; everyone thinks she's got the brains to do it. Mayer isn't just a nerd but she's well-rounded in the sense that not only can she code anything but she's a fashionista; she once spent a killing at an auction just to have dinner with Oscar de la Renta. Mayer has also come up with spreadsheets on how to make the perfect cupcake!

Mayer is breaking the barrier in computer science for girls; being a true inspiration for young women like myself. I admire her and can appreciate how when she worked at a super market when she was younger and scanned about 38-41 items per minute. I also worked at a super market when I was 16 and obtaining a high items scanned per minute ratio was easier to do when you memorized number codes on produce and bakery items. Mayer has loved numbers since her cashier years.

Mayer, being the triple threat that she is hopes to inspire females worldwide to go into computer science. She's already done so with me and I'm sure once more young belles learn about her they too will be inspired. How do you feel about Marissa Mayer as CEO for Yahoo
