Mimeisthai will
surely open your eyes to the whereabouts of today's technology. TED is a worldwide group of
conferences, all non-profit, that meet up to share ideas and to promote
innovation under the motto "Idea's Worth Spreading". TEDXSydney met at Clemenger BBDO in Sydney Australia where
they set up Mimesithai. But what is Mimeisthai?
Mimeisthai picks up on trending
(verbal) topics within a room full of humans and visualizes them for you.
No need to log on and Tweet about it, Mimesithai is already one step ahead. TEDXSydney brought this
to life on May 26th with a theme: Real. Live. Now. But how is this possible?
Parabolic shaped microphones were strategically placed around this space at Clemenger
BBDO set to capture topics from the 900 bright conversationalists sitting
amongst the room. The algorithm Mimeisthai has picks up conversations and
analyzes them instantly and "brings them to life" on the screen as graphic art.
This short film, by James Théophane Jr.,
was taken during the intermission of the meeting where the conversationalist
got to relax and see Mimeisthai works during normal everyday conversations.

Théophane is a genius - creating this "mouth to screen" trending
topic without the aid of tangible technology. As you watch the Video 2, with
the idea cloud, you'll see people's actual conversations from compliments to
curse words. Mimeisthai doesn't hold back when it brings words to life on the
big screen for everyone to see as would a Tweet where a person's thoughts and
words tend to be altered by hardware.
Mimeisthai has an endless future, I believe; it could be
used on game shows for polls, for presidential elections or even congressional
meetings so we actually know what politicians are talking about and if they
have a hidden agenda. What do you think of Mimeisthai? And where would you like
to see this idea going?
