As if Facebook has not made enough changes over the past few months, be prepared for yet another change to your Facebook profile: Timeline could soon be getting a makeover. The social network is currently in the testing phase for a new and improved design for profile pages, which will place all posts in a single column on the left while updates, friends, places, apps and all other activity and sections are on the right side. The current Facebook format is a two-column layout, which includes posts that display on the left and right side of your profile. When the site rolled out their current format last December, many long time users quickly voiced their opinions by posting Facebook statuses, tweets, and blogs complaining about the new unorganized layout.

However, the new upcoming version of Timeline no longer has the vertical line that divides a profile in half. According to Inside Facebook the new layout actually looks less like a timeline. Dates of wall posts will now be clickable which is an added convenience and will make your overall experience user-friendlier.
So what’s new? Modules will now be on the right-hand side and are smaller than the size of posts, which were previously the same size. This also means that profiles will now have blank spots, rather than a page full of posts and content. Inside Facebook has revealed that Facebook is currently testing the new format with a “small percentage of users” but did not confirm an official release date.
