Hey there! Last week I opened up a new chapter of our Hudson Horizons blog: the twisted Ticketini tales. Well, they're not really twisted... not yet. These weekly posts will be more or less like a marketing journal where I'll record my social media ups and downs, share honest, unabashed feedback, and keep you in the loop as I spread the word around the world wide web about Ticketini.com-- a ticket selling website with a special social spin.
If you haven't already checked out my first post, you can find it here: Ticketini Goes Live...
But for those of you in a hurry, here's the 411... on high-speed:
We recently launched a new website, Ticketini.com. Ticketini is:
A) a mega search engine for entertainment events, performers, venues, etc.
B) a 100% guaranteed secure online marketplace for purchasing authentic tickets
C) a social network for sports fanatics, music lovers, theatre geeks, and everyone in between
As the SEM specialist for Hudson Horizons, it's my proud duty to introduce Ticketini to the Internet and introduce the Internet to Ticketini. But shaking hands with the social web can be an arduous undertaking.
Here's my mission: for six months, I'm going to rely strictly on MY social skills with social media marketing techniques and social networking websites (Twitter, Facebook, and hopefully YouTube, to name a few).
Think I'll spread my social wings and bring some interested traffic to Ticketini... or Fall Flat on my Face(book)... I guess we'll all have to wait and see.
"But Lauren," you may ask, "how is it that you can take on a task like this and seriously hope for results?" Well, I don't expect Ticketini to be a household name in ticket selling websites overnight. I also don't expect to plug a link to the homepage on every social network and get an immediate traffic surge. That's just not how social media works.
But if the past has shown us anything, it's that social media CAN work when approached responsibly and catered to regularly.
I'm drawing a lot of inspiration from admirable social media marketing campaigns I've followed in the past. Check out more about them in my next post!
