Social Media Day 2012 in New York City was this past weekend
at the Canal Room. Hudson Horizons'
Social Media Team including Elysa,
Rania, Yfran, and myself attended the event
promptly arriving at five. We were greeted by a line of people just like us not
knowing what to expect. We entered the Canal
Room and were given free Tees (which we are proudly wearing today) to
represent Mashable and Motorola
Maxx who sponsored the Eventbrite event.

We took advantage of the open bar and the hors d'oeuvres and
before we knew it we were mingling and dancing the evening away. The crowd was
in good spirits as well as friendly. Of course team HH took advantage of the
photo booth, over and over again. Unfortunately none of us won the raffle for
the Motorola
Maxx Razr Droid phone but we were content with the musical guest's
performance by GZA from the
Wu-Tang Clan (C.R.E.A.M.) and the DJ's tunes.

Rania and I were left to troop the event on our own after GZA's
grand performance. We made the terrible decision to leave the event and have
dinner when Pete Cashmore himself showed up to the event at the Canal Room. We figured this out today, so
please Pete Cashmore give us a
shout out to help ease our pain! We can't wait for next year's Social Media Day
