Web traffic is an essential component of having an effective Internet presence. There are currently two efficient options that will drive traffic to a website if they are carried out correctly. Reports by Wall Street Journal and other news sources claim Google will be implementing a major overhaul to the Google Search Engine. Google wants to make a more "semantic search" experience for its users. Google plans to build formulas that will better understand the meanings of words. For instance, it will better differentiate Tide the laundry detergent and tide the ocean current term. The Google team plans to roll this program out within the next few months. Part of this overhaul is meant to be more... read more.

Is it time we upped the ante with SEO? The dawn of Google Panda in 2011 has sparked a shift in how we optimize websites. Though Google has made a few updates to Panda, it looks like Google is satisfied with how Panda has affected search and it is here to stay. Originally called "Farmer" because the new algorithm was created to target content farms and push them down in search, the name "Panda" originates from the engineer who was a key developer of the algorithm. Matt Cutts and Amit Singhal both explaine... read more.

Hopefully as more extensions and appplications are developed, Google+ members will find greater ease in incorporating Plus to their current social media regimen. *Just to clarify, the extensions are made for Google Chrome, which is obviously appropriate to develop across Google to Google. The extensions have been la... read more.

After Google's algorithm was questioned in the Google Webmaster Forum earlier this month, the search engine giant reported that they do not, in fact, incorporate a "white-list for algorithms", but a recent statement from Matt Cutts proves completely different. Last week at SMX West, Barry Schwartz reported that the head of Google's webspam team, Matt Cutts, answered this very same question during the Spam Police panel. Schwartz describes his answer as long and detailed, but the bottom line is that Google d... read more.
