Last week, Apple unveiled a new line of desktop computers that are sure to please customers and their wallets during this shaky economy.
The Associated Press had some great coverage on the line of refreshed Apple computers, which boast a variety of features as impressive as their retail prices.
The new comps on the block include a streamlined Mac Mini, and shockingly affordable (yet still top-quality) iMac desktops. As far as the desktops go, Apple is offering a 20-inch screen iMac starting at $1,199, and a striking 24-inch screen iMac starting at $1,499.
The Mac Mini, "a petite computer sold without a monitor, keyboard or mouse," should do well among the minimalists out there-or those into technological Feng shui.
Starting at a reasonable $599, the Mac Mini now boasts a faster graphics processor and can even run multiple monitors simultaneously. Apple is also banking on the Mac Mini's notable energy efficiency to make a big splash with those dedicated to living "greener." According to the AP, the revamped battery "draws less than 13 watts of power when idle, or about one-tenth the power of a typical machine."
One of the most popular notebooks, the MacBook Pro, now sports a swank quad-core processor from Intel Corp., but it's still on the pricier side, retailing at a basic price of $2,499. Still, that's an impressive $300 cheaper than the previous model. "An eight-core version starts at $3,299," the AP maintained.
Hats off to you, Apple, for making an effort to deliver top quality machines at, well, more affordable prices! Check out the Apple Website for more information on models, gadgets, and payment plans.
