'The X Factor' vs. 'The Voice'

Pop superstars, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera will be competing against each other for ratings during the premieres of their much anticipated television shows, FOX’s “The X Factor” and NBC’s “The Voice.” “The Voice” is currently on its third season, with judges: Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, and Cee Lo Green, “The X Factor” is adding two amazing and unexpected additions to their judging panel, Demi Lovato and Britney Spears. The other two staple judges of the show include: Simon Cowell (Creator) and L.A. Reid (Record exec and producer).

Fans of both shows have utilized social networking platforms such as: Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, and Instagram to share their thoughts on the shows. Fans of "The X Factor" have been tweeting up a storm about who their favorite judge is by using hashtags: #ItsBritney (Spears), #QueenD (Lovato) #MrNiceGuy (Simon) #ImEpic (Reid).

'The Voice' vs. 'The X Factor'

Originally, "The Voice" planned to air on Monday and Tuesday nights, while "The X Factor" was set to air on Wednesday and Thursday's. Just last week, NBC’s “The Voice” decided to add a third episode to their originally planned two episode premiere, which will coincidentally be airing on the same night as the highly anticipated premiere of “The X Factor.” Judges Britney Spears and Simon Cowell have not been shy with sharing their thoughts of NBC’s last minute additional episode change. “I’m elated,” Spears said sarcastically on “Access Hollywood.” “It’s really interesting. I do find they’re both really interesting shows. I mean, they captivate on the same things. In all honesty, I do feel like they’re two totally different shows, you can’t really compare the two.”

The last minute third episode addition really seems like a cheap shot to FOX, “None of us are happy about it,” Cowell said. “It is literally what’s known as ‘spoiling the party.’” All the drama aside, “The X Factor” shouldn’t worry all that much since “The Voice” only earned 12 million views on their Monday night premiere. Even further proof that “The X Factor” should trump view count of “The Voice” is Britney’s latest appearance on The Ellen Show earlier this week. Spears gave Ellen DeGeneres her biggest season opening since 2003, according to TheHollywoodReporter.com. To hear more of Simon’s frustration with “The Voice” on The Ellen Show, check out the video below:

The second season of “The X Factor” premieres tonight on FOX tonight at 8/7c. NBC’s “The Voice” airs tonight as well at 8/7c. Britney vs. Christina – who do you think will draw in more viewers?

Well, I wish I could say I was a fortune teller, but in the end Aguilera won the ratings match in a landslide, with only 8.3 million viewers of The X Factor. Simon stands to loose more than Brittany, considering he is the producer and part owner of the show. I chose to watch The X Factor and the Voice, but this is the first season I have ever watched either. It could have been neither, but thanks to my Hopper’s PrimeTime Anytime recordings that I used when I noticed it as an option. That feature helps me discover new shows I didn’t think twice about watching before I got my Hopper, and now I watch more TV as a result.
